The Media’s Trump: A 'Firehose of Falsehood'

The American Trump-loathing media floods the airwaves and headlines with falsehoods and soundbites in a tone of impending doom.

Whether it's the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, CNN, or a Megyn Kelly or Tucker Carlson podcast, the media’s disparaging interpretation of Trump’s actions are reminiscent of the Russian-Putin propaganda technique of a “Firehose of Falsehood.” The Trump-loathing American media floods the airwaves and headlines with falsehoods and soundbites in a tone of impending doom. By contrast the most maligned and indicted president in history -- with three attempted assassinations -- President Donald J. Trump in any setting is the most relaxed, funniest, and bewilderingly confident person present regardless of the circumstances. Taking questions by Air Force One his demeanor is maddeningly calm and poised, even as he criticizes the press his voice and delivery is direct, unfettered by filter, and in a measured cadence. Too bad the Democrats are missing his humor.

For example, the predicted catastrophe of the war on Iran. The claims of unplanned chaos at the Straits of Hormuz have become a magnificently calm naval and air operation. This is good for the world. But not for the media. If you listened to CNN: Senator Chris Van Hollen [D-MD], accused the Trump administration of an "illegal war." “We now have set the region on fire. We’ve lost thirteen American service members… hundreds of American service members wounded… thousands of innocent civilians throughout the region killed… prices going up, and the American taxpayer 2 billion dollars a day, all for nothing!”

“All for Nothing!” This disregard for the truth raises the question, “Was the world better off with a nuclear Iran?” While even one American killed is too many, the number of casualties for an operation this big is unbelievably low. The “thousands of innocent civilians” killed were in fact Iranians murdered by the IRGC, with estimates of higher than 30,000 in two days alone. In a month’s time Trump’s operation not only removed Iran as a nuclear threat along with its ability to wage war, but his success has wider implications for global American preeminence. Trump almost singlehandedly brought perennial enemies Israel and the Gulf States together against a common enemy; The U.S. control the lion’s share of the world’s oil, boosting global reliance on American currency along with our oil production.  Hundreds of empty tankers are headed to the Gulf of America, the world’s newest filling station. The Trump-Scott Bessant insurance plan took out Lloyd’s of London’s near-monopoly on shipping insurance just as they raised rates.
