New polling data released Friday by The Tarrance Group shows Congressman Byron Donalds pulling away from the field in the Florida Republican gubernatorial primary, capturing 50% of the support among likely voters.

The surge leaves every other GOP contender trailing in the single digits, effectively reshaping the race into a one-man show as the primary season heats up.
 

The numbers reflect a steady climb for Donalds, whose statewide support has grown by 4 percentage points since January. The momentum is particularly visible in key regions; he saw a 14-point jump in the competitive Tampa Bay media market and a 7-point rise in the Panhandle.

Beyond the polling booth, Donalds has consolidated an expansive roster of high-profile backers. In addition to the endorsement of President Donald Trump, the Congressman is supported by Donald Trump Jr., Elon Musk, and U.S. Senator Rick Scott.
 

His coalition also includes a majority of Florida’s sheriffs, U.S. House leadership, 17 members of Florida’s congressional delegation, and 75% of the Republican caucus in the Florida House.

Charlie Schumer needs to get off his dead *ss, shut down the government, and blame it on Donalds. :thud: Although blaming it on Trump for supporting him would be nice too, :whistle:

The statewide races are going to be competitive in 2026, and some of the swing congressional districts may tip to the democrats.  Dems lead the generic congressional ballot by 26 points among independents.

I need to change my voting registration so that I can vote for Donalds in the primary.  It is imperative that FL stay red.  He's been consistently conservative.  Not so sure at this point if his staunch support of Trump and vs-versa is going to help him.

One might ask whether Donalds really opposes illegal immigration, it appears.

Donalds needs to make it crystal clear that he opposes the latest push by RINOs to grant illegal aliens "amnesty!"  There are credible quotes from him that he supports the idea.

He is my Congressman.   I have never heard him say that he is pro-illegal immigration nor does he want amnesty.

He is ahead on all of the polls, and pretty much at this point has no competition other than perhaps Casey DeSantis, but her polling  numbers are low.

I like him and think he would make a great governor.

Perhaps ... the negatives are starting to come in. Again, I've always known him to speak and vote conservatively.  So ... we'll see. 

I was wrong about Bondi -- I hope if Donalds is our next governor, I won't be wrong about him.
