House Democrat Leadership: Return to Session ‘Immediately’ and End Iran War Before WWIII

Hannah Knudsen 7 Apr 2026

House Democrat leadership released a statement on Tuesday calling for lawmakers to come back into session “immediately” and vote to end the war in Iran following President Donald Trump’s sharp warning to the Islamic country.

Democrat House leaders referred to Trump as “unhinged” following the commander-in-chief’s warning to Iran that its “whole civilization will die tonight” unless “something revolutionarily wonderful” occurs.

“His statement threatening to eradicate an entire civilization shocks the conscience and requires a decisive congressional response,” House Democrat leaders said, calling for the House to come back into session “immediately and vote to end this reckless war of choice in the Middle East before Donald Trump plunges our country into World War III.”

House Democrat leaders also accused Republicans of enabling what they described as Trump’s “dangerous and extreme behavior.”

“Enough is enough. Our brave men and women in uniform have been put into harm’s way in the Middle East,” they wrote, adding, “Over a dozen have already been killed and hundreds injured.”

House Democrats ended the statement by calling on House Republicans to “put patriotic duty over party loyalty and join Democrats in stopping this madness.”

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
Well, they sure aren't Roosevelt era Democrats.

WWII would have been over in 5 minutes, and they'd have called to impeach everyone.

Instead they've permitted us to reach the brink of WWIII, and helped hostile forces get there by arming them, in Afghanistan, and by releasing funding.

What's unhinged is 47 years of a festering regime about to come to a head, and doing serious damage to it and quitting while the job is getting done.

No one wants to lose American service men or women (May Almighty God keep them safe from harm!), but losses are a part of war. These folks, our troops, knew what they signed up for. It's their chosen profession, and they excel at it. We have had lower materiel losses than virtually any 10 minutes of WWII bombing raid over Europe for the whole war so far, and two of those aircraft are ones our forces destroyed to deny them to the enemy.

Remember, folks, these are the people who declared "war" on conservative Americans, repeatedly ("If they bring a knife, we'll bring a gun"), who burned American cities, federal property, harmed and even killed Americans during their tantrums, but when we are defeating a very real foreign enemy, quail at the thought of going in harm's way (for the cameras, of course, because if they really gave a damn, the VA system never would have been allowed to decay).

Maybe one or more of their fraud-funded pipelines leads back to Iran or their proxies. The more all that "charity" gets cut off at home, the more shrill (and Anti-American, in time of war) they get.
How God must weep at humans' folly! Stand fast! God knows what he is doing!
Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
