“Newsom’s wife is exactly who would be cast if they were looking for a parody of a rich California liberal politician’s wife.”A 2023 interview with Jennifer Siebel Newsom by MSNBC’s Jen Psaki has resurfaced, and it certainly won’t help Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) win over red state voters in 2028.
With his eye already on a future presidential run at that time, Newsom launched a “Campaign for Democracy” tour to boost Democratic efforts in Republican-led states, visiting Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, and Mississippi. His wife and children accompanied him on the trip.
Siebel Newsom sat down with Psaki in Alabama, and the elitism and condescension in her remarks were impossible to hide.
Psaki asked, “Why was it important to you to take them on this trip to red states and learn about the history of this country?”
She essentially told Psaki she brought her children along so they could witness racism, sexism, and bullying firsthand — implying that bigotry, intolerance, and similar forms of hate are confined to red states.
