Faculty and employees at Long Island University directed virtually all of their political donations to left-leaning committees during the 2026 election cycle, according to an analysis of federal contribution data.
Of the approximately $43,225 in total political contributions from LIU-affiliated donors, about $43,179—or 99.89%—went to left-leaning committees. In contrast, just $46, or 0.11%, was directed to right-leaning groups.
ActBlue, the Democratic fundraising platform, received the overwhelming majority of contributions at roughly $33,000, far outpacing all other recipients. Additional donations went to Democratic-aligned organizations such as the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and MoveOn.org.
Right-leaning contributions were virtually nonexistent, with only a nominal amount going to a Republican-aligned platform.
