11 Asian Crips associates arrested in San Diego County drug sting

SAN DIEGO (Border Report) — Five indictments and one criminal complaint were unsealed in federal court this week charging 11 individuals affiliated with the Asian Crips with distributing methamphetamine throughout San Diego County.
According to a news release sent by the U.S. Attorney’s Office Southern District of California, the charges are the result of a 16-month investigation by the FBI San Diego Violent Crime Task Force – Gang Group and Homeland Security Investigations targeting Asian Crips-affiliated drug dealers throughout San Diego County.
The investigation included the use of court-authorized wiretaps, undercover agents and confidential sources.

In a coordinated effort Wednesday morning, more than 200 federal, state, and local law enforcement officials executed four search warrants in Escondido, National City, Ramona and San Diego and arrested seven defendants.
