Make those who block funding stand on the Senate floor and defend it. Hour after hour. In full view of the American people.

Let them explain why, at a moment of heightened global tension, they chose delay over readiness.

Let them justify leaving the country exposed.

If the stakes are as high as they claim, then the debate should be just as visible.

Senate Democrats are gambling with American lives, so that they may score political points in advance of midterm elections.

This effort is disgusting and dangerous, and Republicans must loudly say so.

If and when a significant terror attack occurs, you must also know that Democrats will blame Republicans for not acceding to their demands, rather than accept blame themselves for needlessly tying the  government in knots, at the expense of national security.
