Now, there are some patriotic millionaires who stepped up. Okay, cut me the checks. If you want to be supportive, but maybe the first step should be to go down to Palm Beach and see who we can bring back home because our tax base has been eroded. So I philosophically don't have a problem, I have to look at the fact that we are in competition with other states who have less of a tax burden on their corporations and their individuals. And I would say remote work changed everything. There were people who could only work in an office in Manhattan or work in New York State and they were captives to our state. They were going to stay. We saw that that's not the case. Wall Street, businesses looking at Texas? They're not going there because they have a nicer governor, I know that for sure, but they're going there because of the tax rate. We have to be smart about this. But we can fund what we want to fund with what we already are taking in.

The people who'll pay for the welfare state largesse can afford to move.

The people who would receive the welfare state largesse will move to the state with the most generous welfare benefits.

That government can't move, but I'm sure it will attempt to spread its revenue agents' tentacles across municipal / county / state lines to collect 'newly discovered' individual and corporate tax liabilities or retroactive taxes.  The SCOTUS will be busy with interstate state government revenue collection efforts.

Former California, New York, and Washing State residents will live like modern day moonshiners trying to stay one step ahead of the revenue agents.

This kind of reminds me after the Salvation Army came out with their DEI, anti-white screed in internal documents. 

Benefactors generally only get fooled only once.

They won't come back as long as Democrats and commies (but I repeat myself) hold positions of power in Albany and NYC.

I have a friend who didn't get out of Big office space REITs in time, and says he is now in negative ROI territory.

That's your bellweather right there of the future of NYC..

Hochul and Mamdani have a problem that happened more quickly than I anticipated; no one is going to be left to pay for their socialist programs. Hopefully DC won't help them support what they've created.

They can spend 183 days in NYC and get the same economic benefit.

It's 3 hours to south Florida, 2.5 to Nashville, 4 to Dallas.  Absolutely no reason to pay 15% tax.
