Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi twice failed to pronounce the word "amnesty" while attacking the Supreme Court for its presidential immunity ruling during an interview posted to YouTube on Friday.
The Supreme Court ruled on President Donald Trump's immunity appeal on July 1, 2024, finding that presidents have immunity from criminal prosecution for "official acts" taken in office. Pelosi suggested during the Spectrum News interview that the Supreme Court's ruling indicated it lacked "decency" before struggling to articulate her thoughts.

"I thought there might be some decency in the Supreme Court. For this Supreme Court to give total amnity, uh, uh, uh, just amnity, to this president — that whatever he did, it was OK — is so contrary to the fundamentals of our country … all three houses, the president, the Republicans in Congress and the Supreme Court — a disgrace," Pelosi said. "Uh, uh, not living up to the oath of office that we take to protect and defend the Constitution, disloyal to the … vision of our Founders."
