Management overruled them, deciding the activity didn’t meet their threshold for a “credible and imminent risk of serious physical harm to others.” They banned his account but stayed silent — until after he murdered 10 people (including himself) and injured 25 others on February 10, 2026. Only then did OpenAI reach out to the RCMP to “support the ongoing investigation.”
