Thank you, Democrats -- for showing us your hand in politics
If we are going to prevail, we must play their same game by the same rules of engagement.

It's about time we conservatives gave the Democrats a big figurative hug along with our sincere thanks for teaching us how to conduct ourselves in the arena of American politics.
You, Dems who cloak yourselves in self-righteousness, moral certitude, arrogance and hubris have shown us the error of our conservative ways.
This goes double for those of us who were brought up in the immediate post-WWII years in America's heartland and who were taught to give a person the benefit of the doubt, to treat others as we would want to be treated and to help those who truly needed it.
My generation believed in America and in our long-standing traditional values of goodness, fairness, hard work, honesty, loyalty and piety not only to God and religion, but also to a working philosophy that included the promotion and protection of the nuclear family and all human life.
Those days were easier to live for many of us because we shared a moral codex that was, essentially, our blueprint for normal American behavior. Knowing that our behavior was reflective of the sentiments of one particular phrase in the Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to be self-evident …" that gave us the opportunity to spend less time defending those truths and our lifestyle and allowed us to focus on making America great.
Somewhere along the way, we lost our way and started to go our separate ways. It may have been the migration to the cities or the sudden prosperity we experienced as America rebuilt itself after four plus years on a war footing.
It might have been due to the expansion of the middle class or the growth of our university industrial complex.
