While I hate to see brick and mortar shutter, I haven't stepped foot inside a Macy's in probably 15 years. They have nothing to offer; they are over priced for the quality of goods and I have to drive to the next town over to get there. I no longer need business attire -- just shorts, t-shirts and flip-flops. I have plenty and if I need something, the discount shopping stores are just fine.

In a memo shared with employees on Thursday, Macy’s CEO Tony Spring provided an update on the company’s years-long “Bold New Chapter” plan, which seeks to prioritize investment in certain existing locations while closing underperforming stores, among other tactics.
“In executing our strategy, we continue to review our portfolio and make careful decisions about where and how we invest, including closing underproductive stores and streamlining operations,” wrote Spring. “These decisions are not made lightly.”
