GOP backlash to Omar earmark slows government-funding bill

Conservative backlash to an earmark for a Somali-led organization in Rep. Ilhan Omar’s district is creating a speed bump for a package of three funding bills, delaying the package’s advancement.

Tucked into a funding “minibus” funding several departments and agencies, the requested community project funding would give $1,031,000 to the Somali-led organization Generation Hope’s “Justice Empowerment Initiative.” The earmark had also been backed by Sens. Tina Smith (D-Minn.) and  Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.).

Conservative opposition to the Omar earmark held up the package’s advancement in the Rules panel overnight as conservatives and GOP leaders hashed out a solution.

The House Rules Committee ended up advancing the minibus package on Wednesday.

The Somali's can get that money from the taxpayers of Minnesota, not the American taxpayer.

That is a local organization with local reach doing things that have nothing to do with Interstate Commerce, Public Safety, Public Health, National Defense, nor National Security.

It does not deserve Federal funding.

If the Dems want to shutdown the Government to defend funding a local NGO that conducts no Federal function, go for it.

Let the Dems sacrifice themselves on another hill for absolute nonsense.

Force the Dems to justify every frickin' Federal dollar they want to hand out to their partners in crime.  Let the American people see the waste, fraud, and abuse behind the Dems' smokescreen, line item by line item.

I say  until the many billions of dollars are recouped from the thieves in Minnesota, ZERO DOLLARS should be earmarked for any Somalis.  Let them go back to their own nation.

And every person involved in the scams in Minnesota and elsewhere should have their citizenship revoked and immediately deported to their country.
