During interviews with the FBI, the suspect arrested in the pipe bomb probe told investigators that he believed the 2020 election was stolen, providing perhaps the first indication of a possible motive for the bombs placed near the DNC and RNC headquarters, people briefed on the matter said.

The FBI arrested Brian Cole, 30, on Thursday on charges that he planted pipe bombs near the Republican and Democratic National Committee headquarters the night before the 2021 US Capitol riot.

Cole spent hours with FBI investigators and made multiple statements, the sources said. Dan Bongino, deputy FBI director, told Fox News on Thursday that the FBI had interviewed the suspect at length, but didn’t elaborate.

The FBI and the Justice Department declined to comment for this story.

The bureau believes the man compiled bomb-making supplies for months before leaving the viable explosive devices outside of the political offices.

Cole is charged with transporting an explosive device in interstate commerce and attempted malicious destruction by means of fire and explosive materials.

He is expected to appear in court Friday afternoon and has not yet entered a plea.

This guy knows that he was basically let off the hook for four years because his motive was anti-Trump and that the anti-Trump Administration would protect him.

Now that we have a pro-Trump Administration, he applies the same standard, thinking that if he says his motive was pro-Trump, they will go easy on him.  He's about to learn the hard way that this is not the case.

He reportedly started planning this before the 2020 election, though. Did he just predict it would be stolen?

Sources tell me it's widely believed within the FBI that Brian Cole Jr. was coached by his legal counsel to say he believes the 2020 was stolen because this statement will make it more likely for him to be pardoned like the other January 6 defendants.

According to my sources, Cole doesn't actually believe the 2020 election was stolen and has never believed it. No evidence exists that he has ever been a Trump supporter....

It isn't looking for a pardon. It's to get the people who do believe the 2020 election was stolen to shut up or be associated with a nutcase.

No one has answered why someone who would build a pipe bomb and emplace it 15 hours before the big event would put a 60 minute kitchen timer on it.

Because the FBI entrapped an innocent man, knows they don't have evidence to get an indictment from the district level, and is TERRIFIED the defense team will shred them in open court. But don't worry, @dbongino said he is "pretty comfortable" with the arrest.
Defund the FBI.
