Omar’s Office Demands ICE Stop Logs
House Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) alleged ICE agents stopped her son at a Minnesota Target, racially profiled him, and forced him to prove his citizenship with a passport.
Jacklyn Rogers, Omar’s spokesperson, said, “The congresswoman’s son and others were pulled over by ICE, racially profiled, and forced to prove their citizenship with a passport. ICE has long operated as a rogue agency beyond reform.”
“It’s no surprise that an agency known for disappearing people also can’t keep its records straight. ICE now claims it has records of all the stops, and our office would welcome the opportunity to review them,” she added.
Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons responded that the agency has no record of the stop and called Omar’s claim baseless.
