Four members of Arlington family convicted of multimillion-dollar IRS fraud
Story by Lillie Davidson • 12h

Four members of an Arlington family have been convicted of defrauding the Internal Revenue Service in a scheme worth millions, federal attorneys said Friday.

A jury convicted David Hunt, Hunt's twin sons, Brandon and Baylon, and the twins' half-brother Corey Burt of filing false tax returns in the name of trusts they claimed to control, according to a statement.

The men were seeking over $8.5 million in tax refunds they were not entitled to receive, federal attorneys said.

Additionally, Brandon Hunt filed a false return in his own name, and he and his brother submitted fake documents to the IRS to support the scheme, according to the statement.

Some of the fake documents were submitted in response to IRS efforts to reclaim the fraudulently obtained refunds
