You know, there’s nothing that screams “tolerance” like waving a grenade at peaceful protesters, and that’s exactly what happened in Conway, South Carolina, when a 79-year-old lawyer confronted pro-life activists outside St. Anne’s Episcopal Church. Richard Lovelace, a longtime local attorney, approached the group from Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust on Sunday, October 26, 2025, holding what he claimed was a grenade while they demonstrated against the church’s pro-abortion stance. “This man, he walked up and I thought he was coming to have a conversation… He said, ‘This is a gift for you protesters. It’s a hand grenade,’” Survivors organizer Jessica Newell told the Daily Caller News Foundation. Footage shows Lovelace in a plaid shirt, casually displaying the device before police arrived and arrested him about five minutes later.
