Obama: Let's 'Experiment' With Government-Censored 'Diversity' of Opinion in Journalism, Or Something
Ed Morrissey  12:40 PM | October 29, 2025

A friend DM'd this to me today, with the question: Why is this man still talking?

The short answer is that in the US, we let people say what they want, short of imminent threats of violence or incitement thereof. You can be the biggest ignorant fool in the world, and you can still speak your mind.

Too bad Barack Obama doesn't want to reciprocate. Speaking this week at a policy forum, the former president and ultimate author of the Russia-collusion hoax wagged his finger about those who might say incorrect things while on social-media platforms. Obama's in favor of the First Amendment on opinions, he emphasized, but wants government to control the facts.

Obama calls this an "experiment" in "new forms of journalism." Many of us would call it déjà vu:

By means of shrewd lies, unremittingly repeated, it is possible to make people believe that heaven is hell - and hell heaven. The greater the lie, the more readily it will be believed.

The receptivity of the masses is very limited, their intelligence is small, but their power of forgetting is enormous. In consequence of these facts, all effective propaganda must be limited to a very few points and must harp on these in slogans until the last member of the public understands what you want him to understand by your slogan.

Fact is a matter of perspective.

Is what I am typing black letters atop a white background or a white background behind black letters?

Are the black letters pure black or composite black?

If they are composite black, are they really black or just a combination of constituent colors that are interpreted as black by my eyes and brain?

Is the truth obscured by the limitations of my sense of sight?

There are some people who hear sound as colors?

Is what I am typing making a sound that I cannot hear?

... so, just shut up, Barry.  Stop trying to control and subjugate mass thinking.
