ICE removes criminal alien involved in one of Philly’s most shocking acts of violence
PHILADELPHIA — ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Philadelphia removed criminal alien Bou Khathavong to Laos on Sept. 2, after years of legal proceedings. Khathavong contributed to one of Philadelphia’s most shocking and senseless acts of violence — the 1994 death of Philadelphia high school student Eddie Polec, who was murdered on the steps of a local church.
“We sincerely hope that the removal of Bou Khathavong can finally help the family of Eddie Polec and the city of Philadelphia heal from one of the most horrifying crimes in Philadelphia’s history,” said ICE ERO Philadelphia acting Field Office Director David O’Neill. “ICE is working daily to safeguard the American public and bring justice for the families of those who are harmed by illegal aliens.”
Khathavong legally entered the United States from Laos on June 23, 1980.
