As previously reported, Mitt Romney’s sister-in-law, Carrie Elizabeth Romney, was found dead near a parking garage in Valencia, California.

Authorities responded to a call on Friday night on reports of a dead woman near a parking garage.

The woman, later identified as former Senator Mitt Romney’s sister-in-law, Carrie Romney, either jumped or fell off a five-story structure near the Valencia Town Center mall.

Mitt Romney's brother, George "Scott" Romney, filed for divorce from his wife, Carrie Romney, just a few months before she was tragically found dead at age 64 in a California parking lot.

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Scott, 84, filed for divorce from Carrie, his third wife, on June 10. The filing cites the couple's date of separation as May 25, and lists the reason as "irreconcilable differences."

Scott's filing also asked the judge to eliminate the option for either side to receive spousal support at any point during the divorce proceedings or in the future, noting, "most of the assets and debts of the parties are separate property and were accumulated before marriage.”  ...

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
