Nobel Snubs Trump After Year of Peacemaking; Award Goes to Venezuelan Opposition Leader

The Nobel Committee announced Friday morning that Venezuelan Opposition Leader Maria Corina Machado is this year’s Nobel Peace Prize winner.

The committee chose to focus on Venezuela in a year where U.S. President Donald Trump featured heavily in speculation as to the overall winner, given his unceasing efforts to bring peace to a variety of conflicts around the world.

Trump said previously it would be an “insult” to the United States if he did not win the Nobel Peace Prize and he has been backed in his quest by a host of other nations, as Breitbart News reported.

“She is receiving the Nobel Peace Prize for her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela, and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy,” the committee stated in their announcement of the 2025 winner.

The real story that cannot and will never be reported is they DID give the so-called 'Nobel Prize' to Trump.
He refused it. He said to give it to her. Donald Trump owned the committee and chose the winner.

Trump takes no salary. Trump takes no 'prize'.
This will strengthen his position in Venezuela. Trump is the ultimate strategist.
He does not care about his own awards ..

Supporters of President Donald Trump aren’t waiting around to see if the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize will be given to him.

On Monday, U.S. Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (R-NY) stated that the Nobel Peace Prize is no longer the hallmark of global diplomacy it once was, citing last week’s passover of Trump in favor of Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado and the 2009 awarding of former President Barack Obama.

The Nobel Committee, she alleged, has failed to recognize Trump’s successful mantra of “peace through strength.”

In an op-ed, Tenney called for the establishment of a “Trump Peace and Prosperity Award,” meant to recognize leaders who achieve results through “strength, freedom, human rights, and economic progress.”

“The Nobel Peace Prize once stood for strength, integrity, and moral clarity,” Tenney wrote. “Today, it too often rewards symbolism and politics instead of real achievement.”

Tenney, who represents New York’s 24th Congressional District, has twice nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize and vowed to continue doing so.

“President Trump’s leadership has made great strides in bringing peace and stability to regions long defined by war and division,” Tenney wrote. “He delivered results that no one thought possible.”

I guess you can call me an iconoclast on this one ("peace" with hamas).

I don't believe for a minute that hamas (nor iran behind them) wants any kind of peace.

To them, this is but "a hudna", a cease-fire offering a chance to rebuild strength to be ready to eventually attack again.

I'm one of Mr. Trump's biggest supporters in this forum, but I think that withholding any kind of "prize" for attaining "peace" is ... justified.

Wait six months to a year.
Is there still peace then?
OK.
THEN it may be time to consider such an award.
But..
Not yet.

I would not trust ANY muslim, anywhere on this green earth...
