Members of the Chicago Teachers’ Union (CTU) are reportedly plotting ways to make life harder for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

During an online “Workers Over Billionaires” meeting last week, union member Kat Zamarron explained how they’re working hand in hand with Chicago Public Schools to develop “sanctuary teams” to protect illegals.

“We’re working on sanctuary teams in our buildings, letting students know how we keep them safe at school,” she said. “And then we have protections that are built into our contracts. Since 2019, we have codified sanctuary language into our collective bargaining agreement.”

"Sanctuary" is not a real thing.  There is no "sanctuary" from Federal Law in the US.  It's a made up thing, like "Dreamers", that hasn't been rigoursly challenged by actual enforcement of US immigration LAW.
