Two Accused of Armed Robberies Spanning Four Counties; Face Up to 20 Years
A Florida couple has been charged with federal robbery offenses after allegedly committing a series of armed robberies across four counties last week.
United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announced today that a criminal complaint has been filed against Taleah Williams, 21, of North Fort Myers, and Javion Ward, 21, of Fort Myers, on charges of Hobbs Act robbery. If convicted, each faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison.
According to the criminal complaint, Williams and Ward are accused of conspiring to commit multiple armed robberies between September 15 and September 19, 2025. The robberies allegedly targeted stores in Hillsborough, Sumter, Manatee, and Sarasota counties, all located near I-75.
The complaint alleges that Williams devised the plan and provided the vehicle and a firearm. On September 16, Ward allegedly entered a Tampa convenience store, brandished a pistol, and stole about $600. The following day, Williams reportedly attempted a robbery at a Lake Panasoffkee gas station but left without taking any money.
