In the last few years there was a spike in whale beachings and deaths.

Environmentalists suspected the sonar surveys for offshore windfarms was a contributing factor.

Wind Farms are just bad economics.  Too little production at too high a cost.

"Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it’s entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end." - Alan Simpson, Frontline Video Interview

Meanwhile, here on dry land, they're killing off birds of prey.  California Condors are pretty much extinct.
For unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death — if you’re unvaccinated — for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm. Sloe Joe Biteme 12/16

  • The problem with everything is they try and make it better without realizing the old way is fine.

I hope an Alien Probe doesn't come looking for Whales...
You don’t become cooler with age but you do care progressively less about being cool, which is the only true way to actually be cool.

That can't be, California banned lead bullets and fishing sinkers.

The windmills beat us to it.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
Well, just out of curiosity, I did the math. The rotor tip on a 400 ft. diameter windmill (about average up here) at optimum wind speeds producing 15 RPM (goes around once every four seconds) is going over 214 miles per hour.

Fifteen RPM is the low end, 20 is the high end, and produces rotor tip speeds in excess of 285 miles per hour.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
