WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Three people were injured after two separate shootings broke out just blocks apart from each other in Southeast D.C. only hours apart on Monday amid a heavy federal law enforcement presence, D.C. police said.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said that around 4:05 p.m., a call came in about a shooting that happened in the 2700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. SE.

A teenage boy had walked into a local hospital after the shooting.

MPD had a lookout for two individuals — one was wearing all black clothes, a white undershirt, and white shoes; the second was wearing all black.
