Prosecutors allege a fight over accusations of "stolen valor" led to an altercation between two men on Seattle's waterfront last week that ended when one of the men shot the other in the chest.

The shooting happened Thursday afternoon near 1101 Alaskan Way in downtown Seattle.

According to charges filed Tuesday, Gregory William Timm, 32, claimed the victim was pretending to be a member of the military in public.

Investigators say Timm continued to demand the victim's military ID, and the victim took out an airsoft gun from a holster.

"Before the victim could even do anything with it, the defendant pulled out his handgun, pointed it at the victim, and shot him point blank in the chest," Lee wrote.

And therein lies the danger of these self-appointed "Stolen Valor" enforcers.  This particular guy is going to jail for a long time.
