Trump Goes to Powell’s Turf, Criticizes Fed

WASHINGTON–President Donald Trump, who has been critical of cost overruns on renovations at the Federal Reserve, toured the ongoing construction there on Thursday, alongside Chairman Jerome Powell.

Trump, who has repeatedly called on the Fed to lower interest rates, said that the cost overruns are not a fireable offense.

“As a real estate developer, what would you do with a project manager who would be over budget?” one reporter asked Trump.

Not me, it's so typical of attorneys to think they are experts at everything.

It was hilarious watching Powell argue with Pres. Trump about the amount of the cost for the project as he looked at the figures produced by the Fed itself.

What's eye opening is how stupid these "experts" at the Fed are and easily manipulated into cost over runs. Why are they building down below the water line? Why do they have to have parking underground? Why is the project at 3.1 BILLION, for 3 buildings and not done yet.

Why should I have any confidence in these "masters of the universe" guiding the economy?

Trump said the overage was up to $3.1 Billion and Powell was shaking his head "NO!"  So Trump pulls out the reciepts....

It was crazy, and the receipts were from the Fed.

How dumb do you have to be, or arrogant, to think you know more about construction and related costs than a man who is a billionaire real estate developer.

I thought Pres. Trump was actually very nice in how he handled the situation. Although, Pres. Trump did mention how he converted the DC Post Office into a plush hotel and had done so by going down to the steel for 200 million.  It makes you wonder how the Fed thinks of our money.
