Tulsi Gabbard ‘cannot fathom’ how Durham, Mueller missed evidence of ‘years-long coup’ against Trump
By Ryan King
Published July 20, 2025, 1:29 p.m. ET

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard (DNI) was baffled by how special counsels run by Robert Mueller and John Durham missed evidence of what she alleged was a “years-long coup against President Trump.”

On Friday, Gabbard’s team made public over 100 pages of memos, emails, and other material that revealed the Obama administration had quietly concluded Russia didn’t impact the 2016 election’s vote totals via cyberattacks.

Gabbard has cited those documents as evidence of a “treasonous conspiracy” by the Obama administration to amplify “manufactured intelligence that claims that Russia had helped” Trump win the election and called for former officials to be prosecuted.

“I really cannot fathom [it],” Gabbard told Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” about why Durham and Mueller didn’t highlight the evidence her team found. “There is no rational or logical explanation for why they failed.”

“The only logical conclusion that I can draw in this … is that there was direct intent to cover up the truth about what occurred and who was responsible and the broad network of how this seditious conspiracy was concocted and who exactly was responsible for carrying it out.”

The DNI refrained from explicitly accusing either Durham or Mueller of having the “intent to cover up the truth.”

They saw the evidence, they knew about the evidence and they purposefully ignored it!

If Gabbard can't tell the difference between complicity  and oversight?  Maybe she needs to look for another job.

Call it what it really is Tulsi.....  An almost successful coup to change the results of a POTUS election.

The penalties that apply to these crimes are well defined.  Enforce these laws.

Politics has no monopoly on this.

Especially when they are looking to avoid it.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Yup.

In May 2017, the investigation was created by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. Former FBI director Mueller was chosen to lead.  Mueller was never in charge.  They needed Mueller's gravitas and reputation for legitimacy and counted on Muller's advanced senility to guarantee he would not interfer with the "investigation".  No one in Washington thought Trump would serve his full term so getting to the truth would have been a career ender.

The Durham special counsel investigation began in 2019 when the U.S. Justice Department designated federal prosecutor John Durham to review the origins of an FBI investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections.

Durham, too, wasn't going to risk everything on a President he was convinced -- one way or the other --- would never have a second term.

Remember, in 2019 Durham was given the authority to examine the government's collection of intelligence about interactions between the 2016 presidential campaign of Donald Trump and Russians, and to review government documents and request voluntary witness statements.

In December 2020, Attorney General William Barr announced that he had elevated Durham's status and authority by appointing him as a special counsel, allowing him to continue the investigation after the end of the Trump presidency --- and what everyone thought was the last anyone would see of Trump in DC --- evah.  They would be stunningly wrong ......

They didn't "miss" anything, Ms. Gabbard.

Au contraire...
... They were IN on "the fix"...
