Immigration arrests have spiked in Michigan, and across the country, since President Donald Trump took office under a promise to enact the “largest deportation operation in American history.”
Numbers accelerated in recent weeks, new data shows, shortly after White House advisor Stephen Miller, an architect of the administration’s hardline immigration policy, reportedly demanded U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement step up efforts to arrest more undocumented immigrants.
