Trump to ‘cost cutting’ Republicans: ‘Don’t go too crazy’
by Brett Samuels - 06/30/25 8:01 AM ET

President Trump late Sunday cautioned Republican lawmakers against going “too crazy” with cost-cutting efforts as fiscal hawks push for spending cuts in the massive reconciliation package making its way through Congress.

“For all cost cutting Republicans, of which I am one, REMEMBER, you still have to get reelected. Don’t go too crazy!” Trump posted on Truth Social.

Trump argued the bill would make up for the lack of deficit reduction efforts with significant economic growth.

The Senate is plowing ahead with efforts to pass the massive tax and spending bill, which contains key pieces of President Trump’s agenda, including an extension of the 2017 tax cuts and funding for border security.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said in a new analysis over the weekend that the tweaked Senate version of the bill would increase the deficit by roughly $3.3 trillion over the next decade. The office had previously estimated the version of the bill passed in the House would add about $2.4 trillion to the deficit over the next 10 years.

What goes around comes around.

Navarro, 75, was the first White House official in history to be imprisoned for a contempt of Congress conviction.

He served a four-month sentence in a federal prison in Miami last year.

I don't pay a lot of attention to the CBO. They are very political and never correct in their analysis.

No one really knows what the cost savings will be with the deportation of illegals, nor the increased revenues from the tariffs. Also, how can you calculate the increased revenue from businesses moving back to the USA because of the tariffs, or continuing growth in wages.

We are going to have to see over the next 2-3 years what the trends are before we really know if these policies are going to pay off or not. I think they will and a lot of very bright people around Pres. Trump do as well.
We have a beach head. Now it's time to win the war and save the Republic.
