An oxymoron is a figure of speech where contradictory or opposite words are combined to create a striking or thought-provoking effect. Examples include ‘deafening silence,’ ‘organized chaos,’ ‘perpetual motion machines,’ and today’s favorite among zero-emissions policymakers, ‘RENEWABLE ENERGY!’

Yet, our so-called government leaders and policymakers are setting policies and procedures that mandate and subsidize an oxymoronic goal to achieve ‘renewable energy.’

Wind and solar projects that generate electricity under favorable weather conditions only exist because of government subsidies that finance these projects. To date, none of the wind and solar projects around the world have ever been financed with private capital, as there is no return on such investments. Claims that renewables are cheaper overlook the costs of backing up those sources when the sun does not shine and the wind does not blow. When included, costs are much higher.

The so-called renewables of wind and solar only exist in the few wealthy countries that can afford to subsidize an oxymoron fantasy.

Yup the folks who came up with that name obviously are completely ignorant of thermodynamics.

On which topic:  Fun fact:  All of the fundamental laws of physics (quantum mechanics, general relativity, and even their classical analogues in Newtonian physics) have no arrow of time. The equations remain the same if time is reversed.  It is only when a system is complex enough to be subject to thermodynamics that there is a preferred direction of time, with respect to which entropy increases and free energy decreases.

I'll add that biofuels be listed within the "renewable energy' definition as it is sneaking around under the radar claiming that it does not belong in the same category as wind and solar.

Biofuels also have zero contribution as fuel as it takes more energy to make than what it produces.
It is also a huge waste of land as its environmental footprint is greater than any other energy source, not even mentioning it raises the cost of food wherever it is deployed, and is a seriously destructive fuel on engines.

The ONLY reason it is around is for political purposes to cater to a few midwest states, and must be recognized as such by Americans.

Overall, I agree; however, people like Chuck Grassley remains committed to biofuels, so it is really more than just money laundering and income redistribution if people like him are all-in with it.

It is why I want it included when people say 'Renewables'
