TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Criminal Investigation Bureau on Monday said it is confirming the identities of Taiwanese arrested during an immigration enforcement raid at a US nightclub last week.

Early Friday, agents from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) carried out the arrests in Los Angeles, per CNA. Footage of the operation was posted on X.

The post stated that HSI Los Angeles, ERO Los Angeles, and partners from the El Camino Real Financial Crimes Task Force conducted a joint operation at an “underground nightclub.” At the scene, 36 Chinese and Taiwanese nationals were arrested for unlawfully residing in the US.

I'm sure some most excellent federal judge will overturn the arrests on the grounds it was racist since only Asians were taken in. :judge:
