Schumer Demands Apology from Elon Musk

Jeff Poor 2 Jun 2025

Monday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) called on outgoing Trump administration official and Tesla CEO Elon Musk to apologize for measures taken by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

“He says he’s in a bind,” Schumer said. “The American people are in a bind because of what Musk did. His DOGE, which, you know, didn’t go, didn’t do as much as he wanted it to do, but still did huge amounts of damage in terms of the firing of employees, the decimation of agencies like health care, like going after, making sure drugs and food is safe, nuclear energy is safe. The FAA we need to bolster and he — I believe they put a freeze on it. They didn’t hire new people.”

He continued, “Over and over again, what Musk did with his DOGE is going to cause lasting damage to the American people. And just saying now he’s out of the administration and he’s in a bind, that’s ridiculous. He ought to be apologizing to the American people for what he has done. If for some reason he sees the light, I don’t know if he does or not. But that’s what we need. An apology and him to tell Trump to undo the damage that he has done.”

There is no wonder why non-politicians don't have any desire to get involved in politics. The machine is too big. It will run over you.

We'll see if anything actually comes from the DOGE investigation. I'll be surprised. I truly think Musk thought he could help. But the government doesn't work like a privately owned company. Being a cynic, Trump may have used him as a wrecking ball to show how he was trying to get things done quickly. Stymied by judges, etc.

I actually think he is pretty naive (Sort of like Sheldon on Big Bang Theory...brilliant but dumb). He finally figured out he really couldn't help in the way he knows how. So he went back to his own suffering business to fix that. He doesn't owe anyone an apology for trying to help, Chuckie.

I can see why poor aborted democrat babies are starving without all our tax money, but this is like blaming the cop who arrested the pusher for sick junkies. There is a lot more to this, and if Democrats have been cut off from the veritable Niagara of other people's money to hand out for favors, that's their problem. They are the 'dealers' who can't supply their junkies.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

First off, Schumer is a schmuck, and nothing he has to say has value or importance.  He is the problem, as is all of Congress who abdicate their responsibility to do their damn job.

Multiple decades waiting for a sound immigration policy...BIG FAT NOTHING.

Decades without a balanced budget from Congress while spending has been out of control for decades....UNACCEPTABLE

Traitors remaining in Congress, despite having long term affairs with known enemy spies...NOTHING DONE

Zero auditing on how Congress spend money....AGAIN UNACCEPTABLE

Degenerate policies wide spread in government and forced on our companies/society...UNACCEPTABLE

A political party that has communists in key positions of their party.  Bernie Sanders is a communist, so is AOC.  This is insane for them to allow this to happen.

We have a medical profession that has lost all credibility with policies from COVID.  Too many shysters left in control of policies regarding COVID.  Dr Fauci and a dozen others should answer for their crimes against humanity.

There are so many serious problems that Congress is not addressing that the decline of the USA is continuing, and Congress is NOT on board with MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, for they are proactively with their malaise destroying our nation.

One man alone via EOs cannot change the avalanche of sh*t rolling down hill.

Chuck Schumer's parents owe me an apology.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-
