Future of Warfare: US Betting on ‘Robo-Fighter Jets’ to Beat China in War Over Taiwan

Anduril and General Atomics are developing a new class of “fighter drones” – which top military brass believe will decide whether the US wins or loses a war with China over Taiwan.
In their bid to gain the upper hand over China in the Pacific, the U.S. are wagering their future military dominance on autonomous combat drones, with ‘close looped’ AI driven systems being developed as we speak.
The U.S. Air Force’s “Project Venom” is currently training AI in modified F-16 jets with these autonomous systems, with the aim to eventually transfer this capability to drone fleets.
However, top Pentagon planners still maintain that crewed warplanes will still remain vital for many years to come.
However, what makes this new class of aircraft most dangerous is how they are designed to “swarm” their opponent’s defenses. It goes without saying that all the major powers will now be complelled to develop similar systems to establish deterrence.
