This morning's briefing....

VIX-  33, down slightly from Friday's close.

DOW Futures  Up 619  (+1.5%)
NASDAQ After Hours-  Up 337 (+2.1%)

Gold- $3239/oz. Down $5 since Fraiday's COMEX Close
Oil- $62.10.. Fairly flat.

Overnight markets- Pac Rim-

Most markets up generally 1-2%

Mid Day- Europe

Same 1-2% rises

Actually seems to be some calming in the markets, as nothing really newsworthy to move the markets this weekend.  That all could change from DJT's 1st presser, ir WH tweet.

What I am watching today-

Obviously VIX, and some 1Q earnings reports this week, which will give an idea of how well the US economy absorbed most of the pre-tariff news, and overall health of business.

I am seeing wire reports of return of cargo ships to China due to tariffs.  How the Chinese respond could rattle the cage, or maybe and hopefully bring them to the negotiating table.

Mid day markets are flat.  Europe realized a decent gain at close, generally 2-3%

VIX is hovering in the low 30's, while still high is reflective of strong general trading data.  Still much better than the roller coaster 50's we ere used to last week.

Commodities are flat too, so this is just an add to hopefully a stabilization trend.
