RINO Congressman Announces He Will Be Introducing Legislation to Sabotage President Trump’s Tariff Authority (VIDEO)
by Cullen Linebarger Apr. 6, 2025 5:40 pm

A RINO Congressman announced on Sunday that he would be moving to undercut President Trump’s bold move to reshape the global economic order with reciprocal tariffs on countries that have taken advantage of America for years.

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday the implementation of a 10% baseline tariff on all imports, effective April 5, 2025. On April 9, the worst offenders will be hit with even tougher measures.

Speaking from the White House Rose Garden, Trump proclaimed April 2 as “Liberation Day,” marking a new era of economic independence. He emphasized that this measure is essential to protect American jobs and revitalize domestic manufacturing.

The White House also released a detailed chart showing how badly many countries have been ripping off American workers, charging high tariffs on U.S. goods while benefiting from America’s generosity in return.

Rep. Don Bacon (RINO-NE) told far-left CBS anchor Margaret Brennan that he would introduce a bill to halt Trump’s tariff agenda. The bill will be modeled after legislation introduced last week by Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and far-left Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA).

As The Gateway Pundit reported,, The Grassley-Cantwell bill requires the president to notify Congress within 48 hours of imposing new tariffs. The president must also present a detailed rationale and analysis of the potential consequences for American businesses and consumers.

So now, fidelity to the Constitution, rather than to Trump get you tarred as a RINO?  Congress never should have given the President authority to set tariffs in the first place.  Tariffs should be imposed by bills originating in the House of Representatives, as the Founders intended when they gave the power of the purse to the lower house of Congress.

The idea of giving that authority to the President is a Democrat idea, dating back to the first FDR administration, but now it's become a standard for being a "real Republican" because Trump.
And when they behead your own people in the wars which are to come, then you will know what this was all about.

Yes, disagreeing with Trump even in the slightest now gets you branded as a RINO in conservative media. Lazy thinking IMO.

The Grassley bill seems reasonable.  A president retains his tariff authority in the event of emergency, but must gain congressional approval within 60 days.

Well, NOW thy are at least looking at the Constitution (for a change). Congress gave away authority over tariffs decades ago.

Which? Looked at the Constitution or given away more of the authority they have been abdicating for nearly a century?

Well I can see all the establishment loyalists are eager to support a self destructive rino who will return the Pubs to minority status.

Any effort to weaken the unitary executive should be stopped. The Congress has had more than 100 years to stop the progressive movement and all they've done is sell us out to a plutocracy and make us dependent on nations that seek to do us harm.
We have a beach head. Now it's time to win the war and save the Republic.

They never had authority to delegate the legislative duties, either, so they called the new laws "regulations" and abdicated the grunt work.
