Trump Vows to Authorize Coal-Fired Power to Counter China

US President Donald Trump said he would look to counter China’s economic advantage from coal-based electricity by authorizing his administration to ramp up production of power from the fossil fuel.

“I am authorizing my Administration to immediately begin producing Energy with BEAUTIFUL, CLEAN COAL,” Trump wrote in a social media post.

It’s not clear what Trump was referring to or how his social media decree would affect US policy. Trump already signed an executive order declaring a national energy emergency and directed the Environmental Protection Agency to boost fossil fuel production and distribution.

Coal accounts for about 15% of power generation in the US, down from more than 50% in 2000, according to the US Energy Information Administration.

... where it's most economical ... cheaper electricity would be anti-inflationary and provide America with more competitive advantage for industry and technology.

America should still strive for a diversified profolio of energy ... in case there's a coal miner's strike or a railraod strike.

🚨Just learned the Biden Department of Energy hid a key LNG energy study from both the American people and Congress in order to push forward their radical Green New Deal agenda.
Biden Administration officials, who religiously claimed to ‘follow the science,’ abandoned it to undermine American-made energy production, appease climate activists, and achieve their predetermined outcomes.
I am grateful to President Trump and DOE @SecretaryWright for providing the full LNG study to @GOPoversight and for their swift efforts to unleash energy production right here in America.
