BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — An inmate and three other people are accused of smuggling drugs and contraband into the Old County Jail in Brownsville.

An investigation by the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office determined four people conspired to bring in cocaine, THC and other contraband into the facility.

Authorities identified the four people as Jose Rendon, 45; Cynthia Rivera, 38; Martin Angulo, 36; and Angelica Castro, 41.

The investigation determined that Martin collaborated with Cynthia to bring narcotics into the jail intended for distribution among inmates.
