‘It’s Unconstitutional’: Pam Bondi Sues Sanctuary State
Attorney General Pam Bondi recently announced that the U.S. Department of Justice is suing New York for its immigration policies, specifically targeting the state’s Green Light Law. The legal action is part of a broader initiative by the Trump administration to enforce stricter immigration measures. Bondi accused New York leaders of prioritizing illegal immigrants over American citizens.
Bondi said, “This is a new DOJ and we are taking steps to protect Americans,” adding, “New York has chosen to prioritize illegal aliens over American citizens. It stops. It stops today.”
The lawsuit, filed against New York Governor Kathy Hochul, Attorney General Letitia James, and Mark Schroeder, the state DMV commissioner, claims that the Green Light Law obstructs federal immigration enforcement. It requires the DMV to notify individuals when their information is requested by federal authorities.
