Former Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas recently defended his past efforts to address sanctuary city policies. He criticized cities for releasing individuals with criminal records without notifying federal authorities, claiming the practice is “irresponsible.” Mayorkas admitted communication failures had hindered his efforts.
