In January, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) signaled his commitment to enforcing President Donald Trump’s America First agenda and efforts to deport illegals by calling a special session of the legislature.

At a Friday press conference, DeSantis announced an agreement between the state of Florida and ICE on illegal immigration enforcement.

The agreement states that state and local officers will partner with ICE officials under their 287 (g) program, which authorizes ICE to delegate them to work specified immigration officer functions under ICE oversight.

ICE can also now identify and deport already incarcerated criminal illegal aliens.
