Hamas Flag Waved In Brooklyn Rally Celebrating 'Victory' In Gaza And Liberation Of Prisoners: America Is Destroying The World! We Salute The Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades!
PAL-Awda New York organized a rally and march in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, on January 26, 2025, "in honor of the victory of our resistance, the steadfastness of Gaza, and the liberation of our political prisoners," following the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel. During the event, the flag of Hamas and a flag featuring the image of its military wing Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades spokesman Abu Obeida, were waved, and protesters repeatedly chanted: "We salute the Izz Al-Din (Al-Qassam) Brigades!"
Raja Abdulhaq, the co-founder of Quds News Network and former executive Director of Islamic Leadership Council of New York, said that America, along with Israel, is "trying to destroy the world." An activist with Writers against the War on Gaza (WAWOG) said: "Glory to the martyrs, victory to the resistance!"
Abdulhaq delivered a Friday sermon in December 2024 at the MAS Youth Center in which he said that Muslims in America cannot be loyal to an "empire" that is destroying the world. He also delivered a Friday sermon at the Columbia University encampment in April 2024.
In addition, he participated in the People's Conference for Palestine in Detroit in May 2024, on a panel titled "Palestinian Resistance and the Path to Liberation," where participants praised the October 7 attack. In a September 2024 lecture at Muslim American Society (MAS) Staten Island Center, he said that the resistance in Gaza exemplifies Jihad
