Story by Matthew Keys • 10h

Nexstar Media Group's upstart cable news channel NewsNation scored a major victory in January, with the network topping MSNBC among key demographic viewers across several programs.

NewsNation attracted an average daily audience of just over 66,000 viewers, according to Nielsen ratings, the channel's best month since NewsNation dropped re-runs of "Blue Bloods" that remained from its time as WGN America in favor of a full commitment to around-the-clock news seven days a week.

Prime-time tends to be the peak hours for cable news viewership, and NewsNation delivered with an average daily audience of over 121,000 viewers, ranking 50th among cable news channels and outpacing CNBC and Fox Business.

The receptivity of the masses is very limited, their intelligence is small, but their power of forgetting is enormous. In consequence of these facts, all effective propaganda must be limited to a very few points and must harp on these in slogans until the last member of the public understands what you want him to understand by your slogan.
