A Los Angeles-area teacher whose home was destroyed by a devastating wildfire slammed California Gov. Gavin Newsom as a “self-serving narcissist” Friday for not being better prepared for the blaze.

Epi Cruz, 53 — the father of three girls ages 8, 11 and 13 — watched his $800,000 home in Altadena burn to the ground as the Eaton Fire ripped through his neighborhood on Jan. 8, he told The Post.

“My house was on fire when I pulled up,” he said.
 
“The house behind me was burning, the houses to the left and right of me were burning,” he said.

“That’s when I realized there was nothing I could do.”

Hey, it isn't easy being governor of Mejifornia.  The governor has to make sure illegal aliens have nice places to stay, are fed, clothed, and have medical care.  And just as the fires broke out, he got involved in getting legal help for the illegals so they could fight deportation which is very time consuming.  He has to make sure junkies have their crack pipes.  He has to make sure welfare loafers are okay, has a big battle to get oil companies out of the state, ensure the safety of the snot nosed click beetle from extinction, do what he can to defund police, support all the wimps in Hollyweird, keep the military from making a mess of his once beautiful state, and make sure DEI candidates get all state jobs.  He has to have priorities to manage all that and homeowners just lost. :whistle:

Is there any evidence that Epi Cruz was not among the >38% of Californians who voted to recall Noisome? Or wasn't among the almost 41% who voted against Noisome in the 2022 goobernatorial election? In 2022, over 45% of LA residents voted for Caruso, not Bass A lot of LA County voters got what they voted against. Cruz may be among them.

Educators urge Californians to vote no in the Sept. 14 recall election and keep proven leader and friend of public education Gavin Newsom at the helm as governor.

CTA State Council of Education voted overwhelmingly at its June meeting to oppose the recall and support Gov. Newsom, who has a history of working side by side with educators for the resources our schools need and our students deserve.

“Educators stand in strong opposition to the recall of Gov. Newsom,” CTA President E. Toby Boyd says. “From our classroom vantage point during the pandemic, we didn’t always agree on approach, but we’ve never questioned his commitment to California’s students and public education.”

At a time when public funds are needed to support our schools, students and families, the state will spend an estimated $276 million to hold the recall election a year before the next regularly scheduled gubernatorial election. The recall effort is funded by anti-union billionaires who want to roll back decades of progress and defund public education, with the goal of putting forth a school voucher initiative in 2022.

“The donors belong to a national network of billionaires who attack public education and are actively working to lower wages, eliminate healthcare and undermine our voting rights,” Boyd says.  .  .  .

The fact that a PS teacher is a union member is not evidence of how (s)he voted. Did I really need to explain that?

Conscripts or professional, honorable soldiers are "orcs"...not worthy of being "dignified" as human beings due to their mere association with a regime conducting war crimes. Their deaths are cheered and mocked as if sport. Ergo...

Teachers, who do more harm to society as part of the collective CTA in CA by promoting "dumbing down" the education of our future. Who promote more spending on worthless efforts. Who promoted and elected certain politicians who are responsible for their plight, by being neglectful, irresponsible and guilty of malfeasance are just as guilty via association. So they are not worthy of any more consideration than an "orc".  tipping hat!!
