‘Billions Wasted’: ICE Halts Programs Providing Social Services to Illegal Migrants

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has halted two programs aimed at providing social services to undocumented immigrants. ICE stated that "the challenge with the WSS was its immense cost with little improvement." ICE’s fiscal report revealed record deportation figures, but noted that the numbers represent only a fraction of the millions of border encounters.
