Biden Spent A Quarter Of His Final Year Out Of The Office Vacationing Or Working Remote

Reagan Reese
White House Correspondent
December 30, 2024 3:10 PM ET

President Joe Biden spent nearly a quarter of his final year in office, 24%, in Delaware, at Camp David or in vacation spots, a Daily Caller review of White House pool reports showed.

Biden spent 89 full and partial days out of the White House in 2024, not counting days he was taking foreign trips for official business. The president’s time out of the office increased after he dropped out of the presidential race, spending a total of 46 full or partial days in Delaware, Camp David, St. Croix, Nantucket and California from August to the end of the year.

The Caller’s count includes the president’s current trip to St. Croix, which the White House has not released the end date of. In 2023, the president stayed until the second of the next year.

The count does not include one trip the president took to Camp David to prepare for the first presidential debate, during which he stayed out of the public eye for nearly a week. The Caller also did not count Biden’s trip to Delaware to recover from COVID-19, during which he also was not seen for a week and dropped out of the presidential race via Twitter.

Biden ends his taxpayer-funded vacation in the U.S. Virgin Islands and leaves for Delaware, where he'll spend the night before heading to Camp David.

No, it's higher than a quarter.  It's somewhere around 40%.  And on 20% of the days they consider as 100% working, his only task of the day was to receive the Presidential Daily Briefing.

Today, he returned from his St. Croix vacation, only to head directly to his Delaware home.  He didn't even stop by the White House.

Here's his schedule for the last two weeks:

Dec 17 - Received PDB.  Flew to Delaware.

Dec 18 - In Delaware.  Empty schedule.  No PDB.

Dec 19 - Flew back to White House.  Empty schedule.  No PDB.

Dec 20 - Received PDB.  Visited children's hospital

Dec 21 - Empty schedule.  No PDB.

Dec 22 - Empty schedule.  No PDB.

Dec 23 - Empty schedule.  No PDB.

Dec 24 - Empty schedule.  No PDB.

Dec 25 - Empty schedule.  No PDB.

Dec 26 - Received PDB.  Flew to St. Croix.

Dec 27 - In St. Croix.  Empty schedule.  No PDB.

Dec 28 - In St. Croix.  Empty schedule.  No PDB.

Dec 29 - In St. Croix.  Empty schedule.  No PDB.

Dec 30 - In St. Croix.  Empty schedule.  No PDB.

Dec 31 - Flew to Delaware.  No PDB.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

How does a freakin' president go for days without a briefing? I realize this potato doesn't comprehend them even when he receives them, but still.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

So the largest terror attack in years has occurred and the President of the United States still hasn't shown up in person to give official remarks?

He may be back in the U.S., but he's perpetually on vacation.

And that may be a good thing!
