Trust me, the country would only suffer under the Blue State model, like Massachusetts has.
States need to be competitive. Those with lower costs - taxes, energy, labor, housing - have a competitive advantage over Northeast States and California. It would be stupid to give that away.
Much of North Carolina's growth has come from companies relocating facilities from the Northeast.
Keep the cost of living low and keep the cost of business low.
Masachusetts has pursued anti-growth policies for the past 25 years. As a result, we have a housing shortage, an affordability problem, and higher costs for energy.
Businesses need to know they are operating in environments where there long-term capital plans can come to fruition without delays from NIMBY's.
For the love of God, don't make the rest of America into another Massachusetts.
