How Hegseth Cultivated an Image That Caught Trump’s Eye
Story by Nancy A. Youssef, Vera Bergengruen, Lara Seligman

WASHINGTON—During his first term, Donald Trump would sometimes interrupt meetings on military or veterans’ issues to call Pete Hegseth, a Fox News host who impressed the president with a blunt style that mirrored his own.

Hegseth railed against Pentagon leaders on television and pushed pardons for soldiers convicted of war crimes, a contrast to the cautious career officials who frustrated Trump. For his second administration, the president-elect has nominated the telegenic 44-year-old Army veteran to be his defense secretary, despite—or because of—a résumé thin on government experience.

“President-elect Trump might look at Pete Hegseth as someone who will carry out his views,” said Mick Mulroy, a top Pentagon official in Trump’s first term. “Someone with a lot of experience would likely be more independent in the deliberation process.”

Excuse me!!! Deployments to Gitmo, Iraq, and Afghanistan isn't "a lot of experience"? In the 101st Airborne ... earning a Combat Infantry Badge and a Bronze Star isn't "a lot of experience"? How much of Mick Mulroy's military experience is driving/flying/navigating a desk in DC?!

Nancy A. Youssef's, Vera Bergengruen's, and Lara Seligman' "Hegseth Cultivated an Image" is reprehensibly insulting, and belongs in an Editorial/Opinion piece, not a "News" section of TWSJ. Hegseth did what he did as part of his duties, not to "cultivate an image".

I am not and never have been a leftist.

If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.
