I wish that I knew that kid, I would have given him $3 for that $2 bill. That would have been a 50% profit.

This is indicative of a deeper problem.

The people making and enforcing the rules don't know squat about anything much.
People who are more intelligent are often punished for that.

Yep, and the list of defendants grows as you go up the food chain.
Whoever was working the till, the administrative staff, the police, etc.

IF we are ignorant of the law, that is no excuse.

If they are ignorant of the denominations of legal tender currency in this country, that should be no excuse, either.

Sue the hell out of all of them, false arrest, libel, get everyone fired from their job, etc.  Maybe then they will plug their brains in and learn something rather fundamental.

I had an aunt that was a head teller at a bank, and one time when I was visiting her, she dragged out her coin and paper bill collection.  She literally had hundreds of $2 bills, they looked uncirculated.
