With immigration an ongoing issue after the 2024 general election, three US Catholic bishops issued a Nov. 14 statement of pastoral concern pledging support for immigrants.

"Compelled by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and recognizing the inherent dignity of each person as a child of God, we stand in firm solidarity with our immigrant brothers and sisters who live and labor in these United States," wrote Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio of the US Archdiocese for the Military Services, president of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops; Bishop Mark J. Seitz of El Paso, Texas, chairman of the USCCB's Committee on Migration; and Bishop Jaime Soto of Sacramento, chairman of the board for Catholic Legal Immigration Network Inc.

Known as CLINIC, the network is a Maryland-based non-profit that provides advocacy, training and support for more than 400 Catholic and community-based immigration law providers in 49 US states.

They have about the same number of people the Bishops support dropping Haitians on in small cities in the US so I'm sure they support the Vatican taking in the same number of Muslim immigrants, not just Italy. *****rollingeyes*****

Well, we can always keep that solidarity by deporting the Bishops along with those illegals.

The same solidarity of not separating families that Homan is declaring for illegals.

Time to start drawing the distinction between legal immigrants and illegals.

The conflation of the two is causing problems already.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Calling illegal invading aliens immigrants is an insult to every immigrant that came to the USA.  It is like calling a pile of human excrement plant fertilizer.  In the USA, they are not one and the same.
